Be Your Dogs Hero

30/05/2018 - Advice

Be your dogs hero.
Lots of people feel pressure from others, especially when it comes to their dog.
Do this, don’t do that!
Have a think about…
What is your dog saying?
What is your dog learning?
How is Your dog feeling?
The fact is…if your dog has a bad experience (especially in the early stages of puppyhood or adolescence) the chances of them then reacting to a certain type of dog/environment/person etc… because of that bad experience in the future is very high.

My secret weapon is to ‘avoid conflict’!
If you are out walking your puppy and see another dog coming towards you that you feel uneasy about, listen to your gut, avoid that conflict and go the other way or pick your pup up and walk past.
There is no harm in ‘avoiding conflict’, nothing bad happened, go on about your day.
If Your dog is showing signs that they are uncomfortable, uneasy, worried or stressed, help them out! Give them space from what is bothering them. There is no harm in ‘avoiding conflict’, nothing bad happened, go on about your day.
listen to them, read them, help them, be their hero.
