This includes dogs with confidence and reactivity issues.

The Tellington TTouch is a kind and respectful way of working with animals to help them overcome a variety of health and behavioural issues.  It was developed over 30 years ago by Linda Tellington Jones and is now widely used around the world by trainers, shelter workers, vets, physiotherapists, behaviour counsellors, veterinary nurses, competition riders, riding instructors and animal owners.
TTouch recognises an inextricable link between posture and behaviour and uses body work, ground work exercises (where appropriate) and specific equipment to release tension and to promote a feeling of calm and well being.  This in turn helps animals develop self confidence and self control and enables them to move beyond their instinctive and, often fearful, responses. (Tellington TTouch Website)

ACE (Animal Centred Education)Freeworkis a simple, low impact activity that can be rewarding for the dog and illuminating for the guardian/care giver; it can be set up in any environment.
Animal Centred Education (ACE) is an integrated approach to animal wellbeing and education. It incorporates methods that were developed by Sarah Fisher at Tilley Farm, Sarah’s passion for detailed observations and building calm foundations on which further learning can be established, and techniques inspired by animals and other professionals working in the world of animal education and welfare.
The aim is to give the dog opportunities to engage with a variety of different items enabling guardians and care-givers to highlight items the dog really enjoys, and those he actively avoids.
As the dog starts to relax and slow down, postural struggles, habits, and worries about handling or other aspects of daily life become more apparent enabling guardians and caregivers to modify their own habits and address these small, or more obvious, concerns. Sometimes it is our own habits that create the behaviours in our animals we wish to modify.
Making small adaptations to the way we interact with dogs can often bring the biggest change.

I attended as a spectator as my dog is elderly. Really enjoyed seeing the dogs being guided through ACE set-ups and growing in confidence. The day was fun, friendly and informal. I look forward to attending more of Emma’s workshops.
